Relationships with Music portraiture

A musician has a relationship with music that we can see (as well as hear) if we look closely. The way they hold themselves and their instruments show us their relationship with their music. The joy of performing, the dedication to the music, the interaction with other musicians; these things are all part of their relationship with music. I saw them in my band members and other musicians I have had the privilege to be around. As a band parent I struggled to create a concert image of my band members that captured this relationship. Most times they were obstructed by other band members or a music stand or just too far back in the ensemble to photograph or in a section that was not well lit. Sound familiar?

The way to capture this relationship is in a controlled environment, not on stage where the lighting is spotty and views are restricted. We want to celebrate with you the Relationship of the musician and his/her instrument. This session will be on a simple set, just the musician and their instrument. The result will be a piece of art that you will cherish forever.

I've been testing a couple of new (new to me) labs and so I'd remember the images I used the next time, I made this collage.

Policy change at Music Man5 Photos

If you visited Music Man5 Photos website over the weekend you may have noticed this "Note all event galleries will only be online for 30 days, so place your orders right away."

What this means is that most galleries will on be visible for 30 days. After 30 days have passed these galleries of photos will still be on my website but will only be accessable by direct link. A direct link would be a post on one of the blogs or if you were invited to a specific event and provided with an event link (like this:

http://www.musicman5photos.com/event/Marching-Ironmen-Band-Camp ).

At some point events will have an expiration date also but for now they do not. More on that when it happens. 

What you need to remember is that once a photo gallery goes up for an event (party, concert, play, rehearsal, competition or sporting event) you have 30 calendar days to place your order.
